2th-4th July 2014 in business School “Skolkovo” the International Conference “Autism. The Route Choice” was held. It was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Moscow State University of Psychology andEducation and Charitable Fund assisting autism problems solving in Russia “Way Out”. The event was held with the official support of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The conference was aimed at consolidating the efforts to solve problems of current interest related to training, education and development of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and also the experience exchange in the field of autism research problems.
Different representatives of professional associations who work with problems of autism took part in the conference: scientists in the field of education, health social protection as well as representatives of parent and community organizations.
During the conference experts shared experience of helping people with ASD in Russia and abroad, identified the key aspects of providing help to people with ASD, discussed suggestions considering measures developing in order to provide the implementation of effective state policy to help people with ASD.
•Andy Shih – vice president of Autism Speaks (USA) and his colleagues;
•Leading experts and professors of Yale University (USA), studying autism spectrum disorders in different aspects;
•Carol Povey – Director of the center for Autism at the National Autistic Society (UK);
•Clara Feldman – CEO of the international organization SHEKEL (Israel)
•Miki Arnon – director of training and education in SHEKEL organization (Israel), providing social support for people with special needs and others.
After the conference the president of the international fund “Autism Speaks” visited the center for psychological, medical and social support of children and teenagers MSUPE. There was also organized a meeting of MSUPE administration honorable guests of the conference. The participants discused the questions of interaction between MSUPE and public organizations of USA an Israel considering the questions of psychological help provided to children with ASD. The meeting was an excellent opportunity to discuss the long-term prospects for international cooperation of the university.
